Oh man, if I had a nickel for every time my son dropped (or threw) his toys and/or sippies, I would be a rich woman! The ground is gross and I get totally freaked by germs down there, especially in places that aren't washed regularly (or ever!). I know on one had that this build immunity, but a sick baby is no fun.
